GoInFront for Mac OS X

One thing I really miss from OS 9 is the way it handles application windows when switching from one application to another. In OS 9, you click on any application window and the application and all of its windows come forward. Under OS X, only the clicked window comes forward. This is not natural to me. It's like only part of the application is active and there can be lots of covered windows hidden behind other ones even though the application owning them is active.

GoInFront for Mac OS X brings back OS 9 application switching window handling.

Usage:

Simple launch GoInFront and leave it running for it to work.

If you don't want the OS 9 style window handling, simply quit GoInFront.

GoInFront is Karma-ware. When you run it, think good thoughts about me and if you hear of a great job or business opportunity, let me know please.

Yes, GoInFront2 works with Tiger.

Update: 3-15-06: I made 2 new versions: GoInFront2 acts like the old GoInFront except if you hold down the shift key, only the window you click on will come forward (like OS X). GoInFront2r is the opposite. When you run it, you will notice no change to OS X unless you hold down the shift key when switching applications. When you hold down the shift key, ALL the windows will come forward. I put both applications in one .zip file.

Download GoInFront2 bundle.

Misc: If you want GoInFront2 to not show up in the dock, check out this free application: DOCKLESS.
