Intervalz for iPod 1.0

Intervalz is a set of MP3 files that will turn your iPod into a Maezel metronome, tuning "pitch pipe", as well as a quiz machine that can test your ability to identify intervals and chord types!

In addition, several guitar tunings are included and for a bonus: ukulele tuning.

How do I use this with my iPod?

Installation:

1. Download and unzip the file which will give you the Intervalz Audio folder on your hard drive. Open iTunes, drag the Intervalz Audio folder onto your iPod icon. This will copy all of the MP3 files onto your iPod. A full install takes approximately 350 MB of space. You can reduce the size of the install by copying a subset of the metronome tempo files.

 FAQ:

Is there a small demo I can try?

Yes, I made this tiny demo to show some of the features of Intervalz. Download it here.

How do I unzip the downloaded intervalz.zip file?

On Macintosh, simply double-click it and it will unzip and your Intervalz Folder will be ready to install. On Windows, use an unzip utility. There are many free ones available. Usually you can double-click and it will unzip, but if not, try some of these programs:

CAMUzip

Other programs that you try.

Can I use Intervalz if I have another brand mp3 player?

Yes you can. However the notes function will not work. You will have to manually create a playlists with the tuning and scales in them. The metronome files will work the same. Your mp3 player will need to be able to randomize a playlist for the chord and intervalz quiz to work.

What is included in Intervalz?

Intervalz includes a Maezel metronome including a few additional tempos, major, minor, diminished and augmented chord test, interval test (up to one octave), blues, harmonic minor, Jazz melodic minor, major, melodic minor and natural minor scales, A440Hz, A442Hz, A444Hz tuning pitches, guitar drop C, guitar slack G, guitar standard, guitar taro patch and ukulele tunings. I will be adding more content in the future.

Since the release I have added lots more tempos.

Is there a small speaker I can get for my iPod?

Yes, Belkin and other companies make tiny speaker/mics for iPods. Here's one. Griffin makes the iTalk.
