Title: remote footswitch with LED for boss style bypass
Post by: Johan on February 26, 2015, 03:44:58 AM
Longtime members of the forum might remember Mark Hammer pointing out how easy it would be to make boss style fx switching remotely controlled.
its a great trick when your delay sits in the loop on the back of your amp, but I allways missed the LED

here is a simple solution I came up with. Im sure soemone can come up with a more elegant solution, but this one works and I've used it reliably for a few weeks now..

the only thing that doesnt work is "double tapping" as many does to check if there is Power to the fx. the reason for that is the 0,1Uf on the transistor base to ground. it is there to prevent false triggering from bad switches "bouncing" Before making or breaking contact.  with given value you can only switch your FX ~2 times every second  ;)  you can reduce value, but at some Point risk false triggering.

enjoy

Good idea...this reminds me of a bypassing method using LDRs: http://sound.westhost.com/project145.htm (http://sound.westhost.com/project145.htm)

Hi Johan - I'm looking at doing something similar, but the images in your post have disappeared.

Is it possible for you to post them again, please?

Thanks
