Title: Could anyone identify these pedals?? Cheers
Post by: tobister646 on May 24, 2017, 04:29:14 AM
Hello, i was at a gig last nigh and the guitarist had one of the best sounds ive heard coming from a little blues jr. these are the pedals he was using (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170524/2fea092c5208896f1894bf409fa390a5.jpg) could anyone identify them? I couldn't get a clear view

Thanks

That's a dilly of a pickle. Any obviously identifiable sounds you remember? Phaser, Temolo, Reverb etc. My first thought for the green one on the left was a Boss PH but doesn't seem to have enough knobs. Or a Bad Monkey overdrive but again not enough knobs. The little orange one looks like a TC Electronics Shaker Vibrato Mini but they have white knobs (as do all the Mooer Mini pedals that look similar) so i'm stumped. I think the one on the far right is a Strymon El Capistan.

It was a brent cobb gig, so if hear some of the heavy tunes he does like, black crow and let the rain come down, from what i could hear probably a phaser and delay pedal maybe, the reverb was coming from the jr im sure. Thanks for the help man.

Cheers

the black one could be a lovepedal superlead...but at the same time from that photo it could be just about anything.

Actually doesn't look like it has any knobs so perhaps the Korg PitchBlack Tuner is more likely...probably doesn't contribute a great deal to his sound though haha

Why not look up the guitarist and ask him directly?  I'm sure that once you've told him how much you loved his sound, he would be happy to share details of his setup.

That green on the left looks like a Nobels ODR-1 and the orange one looks like an MXR Phase 95. Not sure about the others.

The Green one looks a bit odd in shape to be a Boss pedal, but green with 3 knobs.
the orange one know I would have to guess at a mxr phaser 45

My question has to be---- empty stage, so why didn't you just get a better picture or talk to the guitar player  :icon_wink:

Don't you think the orange one is 1590A size?  Bunch of those on the market these days, some with one big knob and a couple little shafts poking through.

I think the green one is a Tremolo/Pan PN-2.  The Orange one is definitely an MXR phase 90 something. The larger grey one looks like an El Capistan.

I looked up Phase 95, and yeah, I think that's the orange one.  I didn't know MXR made minis.

+1 on the El Capistan. The green on is definitely a Nobels ODR-1 though.
