My latest project: the ''SKINWALKER''
a nice hi gain chunky metal box. :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:
based on the spitfire mu-amp J201's setup but with added pregain, tonestack and a bass cut , and tone switches.
nice and chuggy, and most importantly very very quiet between chugs. heres a quick n dirty demo. :icon_twisted:
i have had pcbs made for it, then found i just had to tack on a small cap to quell oscillation even when boxed. but hey, that's the hazards of breadboarding very hi gain stuff i guess :icon_rolleyes:..
anyway.. yep, its working pretty nicely...

Nice one! Sounds great from the video, as if the Spitfire had a fling with a peavey 5150. If I wasn't out of j201s and massively intimidated by a 6-pot 2-toggle build I'd be all over this and ordering a Pcb from you.
Soon man. Once I've sourced more jfets and had a think about how big an enclosure I'll need and time to set aside. I like your Spitfire so much I think I've built three. This one certainly sounds more versatile, but seems it's fully in more extreme territory, though it's difficult to draw real conclusions from a YouTube video played through my phone with Xmas music playing in the background.
Is the video sans-amp? Straight to board?
Cheers all the same Rob! Happy new year to you.
Very nice Rob.
Cheers guys. Yeah its not a fuzz lol... :icon_twisted:
Iain. Sansamp???...
Signal. Guitar. Marshall clean channel. Eq at 12 on amp. Micd. Into mixer...no post EQ. Recorded as is... if thats what you meant. :)
Demos on phones and tablets bad idea....get it up on a stereo for full punchiness... :icon_twisted:
Nice! Really nice. And quiet!
