Title: PNP Germanium Transistor pinouts?
Post by: KerryF on August 03, 2006, 12:42:29 PM
Can someone draw me a diagram labeling the pinouts for a PNP Germanium transistor.  I am using these for the ColorSound ToneBender MKII Pro and im not sure where to put the transistors in.  I have 6 of these, because I am building 2 of the ToneBenders.  I have the values of each if thats needed.

DIY FAQ link.

Near the bottom are transistor pinouts.

Actually, most of what people ask can be found in there or using a search.

DMM Hfe checkers do the pinout verification thing well.
Usually just turning them around once in the socket, PNP side and NPN side too...you probably won't have to twist two of the leads around to get a reasonable reading which shows pinout and polarity, a 'reasonable' [not accurate for calculating gain] Hfe reading.

Thanks so much everyone.  And Torchy thanks for the diagram!

OC170s can suffer from tin whisker syndrome.
Yee have been warned! :icon_evil:

Tin whiskers would explain what saros141 was experiencing. I'm only 17 years too late  ;D
