WARNING!!!

I recently bought some D41464 chips from here; http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10PCS-IC-D41464C-12-NEC-18-Pin-DIP-NEW-GOOD-QUALITY-/290815749353?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43b5f82ce9 .

I figured for the price, $1.38 each, I would give them a try. Out of the 10, I tried plugging any random set of four into my XP-ALL. In 200 or 400 modes, I get higher than normal hum, and 4 of the chips induced a lot of hissing into the audio to the point where the guitar audio is almost wiped out.

These chips are marked "NEC JAPAN", whereas the ones I've tried that work are either "NEC USA", or "NEC IRELAND". To date, these are the Ebay sellers from whom I've bought chips, and have gotten good product from are;

and

Thanks for the heads up Dino!

Still have not tried those chips I got from Jameco yet. I will post when I verify.

This problem is going to get worse I feel. I had a similar experience with LM13700.

Once I knew what some of the "real" LM13700's looked like, and tried to buy a few more from ebay of some with a "real" pic, what I received was not what was shown in the pic. What are some sellers up to?

I've recently been buying IC's from RS components (Australia), or USA ebay sellers if RS doesn't have what I want. Digikey and Mouser are not feasible due to international shipping rates.

Tayda usually states the manufacturer of their IC's, but their range is not extensive.

They're buying up all our debt.
They're hacking all our vital computer systems.
They're selling us useless crap.
They're importing all our jobs.
They're exporting cheap labour.

It's just a matter of time...
