Hi,
First time poster. I just modded my rat with the ruetz double 100k pots. It's still not giving me the bass I want, so today I put my RC bass booster in front of it and that's the sound I was looking for. I was thinking about building a looper to combine the the two pedals, but then was thinking if I could put a bass boost type preamp in the box so I can still use the Rc booster at the end of my chain. First I was thinking of putting an EMG BTC control in there, but it's expensive and and I don't need the treble.
Does anyone know where I could find a diagram, not a a schematic, can't read them,  for a simple bass only preamp? I would like to be able to control it with a knob. Second, I understand how to wire it except for the power. Can anyone help me hookup the 9volt battery/ boss style input/LED with the switch?

A big pre  thanks!

Look over at Beavis Audio for good diagrams of basic pedal wiring.
Is this for Bass or Guitar. If Bass check out Moosapotamus's Bass Paralooper, it should get all guitar pedals to play nice with bass guitar, as I understand it.
Can't help with the Bass preamp diagram, but wouldn't it be something along the lines of a boost + low pass filter. Google

No biggie, but try to be more specific in the subject line, it'll get you more relevant answers from the guys that know about your issue and make it easier for people with the same
query to search in future.

Welcome!

For a simple bass booster to put in front of your modded rat, how about the EH Hog's Foot/Mole?

Tonepad and GGG both have some good diagrams showing how to wire power, LED, bypass, etc...

Thanks for the tips. It is for a bass guitar. I did find a schematic for a booster pedal with a high and low pass filter. Gonna give it a try......http://guitarwiring.blogspot.jp/2011/02/design-your-own-guitar-booster.html

I've heard the hogs foot is more a tone control. I would still like to leave the highs in the rat.

I've read a few posts from other forums about combining the two. One forum I read said something about adding resistors and caps for each effect, but since the looper really doesn't need any power except to power the LED, I wouldn't have to do this if I wire the looper and the booster parallel from the positive side of the power supply correct?

Not quite sure what you are thinking about here:

Here's the thread I was talking about.
http://www.harmonycentral.com/t5/Effects-Pedals-Multi-Effects-and/When-rehousing-two-pedals-into-one-enclosure/td-p/21049429

It says to decouple each effect, but since the looper really doesn't need any kind of a power supply, I wouldn't really need to do this correct? even if I put the led on the looper switch?

Here's the plan so far. Make a looper switch kind of like this ....

Instead of wiring the send lead to the jack, I'm going to put it on a toggle switch like this diagram for the booster.....

Then the lead for the out I would wire to the send Jack. If I did this would I still need to decouple?

Skruffyhound

If the looper is passive then you haven't got any power to decouple, your LED is not in the audio path.

Here is some good information on loopers. I built mine (3 looper station) using this information, and it works perfectly.
