Anyone use one of these before?

Looks like it could work well to make etching masks, or just put the vinyl stickers on the enclosure.

Apparently it's kind of tricky to get good results with the vinyl though.

The 9-inch model is much lower price.

However it does not ship until November. (WHICH November? Either way, it's not reassuring.)

(What a disorganized site) There is also the 'intruction' of Silhouette Portrait, also 9" and $200.

If you and I had any smarts, we'd sign-up for their "Affiliate" program before posting links into their site, watch the pennies roll in!

You can get the Silhouette machines elsewhere, same or hair-less prices. Amazon for one.

Note that the "Cricut Crafting Mini Machine" is a similar product (better-known brand), apparenly lists for $150 and goes closer to $99.

I had looked at the cricut before, but apparently the only designs you can use are on cartridges that have to be bought separately. The silhouette machine includes software that can be used to create your own designs. I might have to pick one up someday and try it out.

HTVRont

Have you heard htvront? I found they have so many cheap vinyl rolls. Check this link: https://www.htvront.com/collections/big-sale

Are you looking for something like the cricut machine?  It is popular for people who are into arts and crafts.

I found one for $20 at a garage sale with the intention of making vinyl stencils that I would use for enclosure art but I would be doing it by sandblasting rather than etching.  I ended up giving mine away to a friend who was salivating over it because she is a very accomplished arts and crafts artisan and I didn't see me using it in the immediate future.

This thread stalled for 8 years. (Until "HTVRont" bumped it with an ad.)

FWIW: Cricut now has user-created and shared patterns. Last week they charged for storage and this week they had to back that down. https://www.theregister.com/2021/03/22/cricut_caught_out_by_user/
