Hey

Looking to build Trotsky drive but no matter how much I ponder it I can't seem to figure out how to wire the bright cut switch or what sort of switch I need.  First switch attempt thus my confusion.

Any help appreciated.  I did a search already but it didn't really answer the basics of wiring a switch for someone with no idea.

Thanks
:)

I'd get a SPDT switch, which has 3 terminals making it easier to wire up.

Wire the 22nF capacitor leads to the middle and left terminal of the switch.

With a small piece of wire or component lead off cut, connect the middle and right terminal of the switch.

Connect the left terminal with a piece of hookup wire to lug 1 of the volume pot (ground).  -  That's on the right looking from the back, lugs at the bottom.

Connect the right terminal to lug 3 (on the left) of the volume pot.

That's it.
Hope this helps

Thanks Random Glitch, I think I understand that.  Would this also work if I have a DPDT On On Toggle handy?

Yes that would work.

Thanks Random, totally appreciate both your replies.

No worries!  Actually my first reply was wrong.     :icon_redface:    Don't add the small wire between right and middle of the switch.

If you use a DPDT you can just ignore the 3 lugs on one side.
