Could you please take a look at this and let me know what you think?

I'm a little confused about our capacitance units.

>.1mfd-.47mfd are good starting points, there really is no effect with a capacitor as big as .002, thats HUGE

0.1mfd = 0.1 microfarad = 0.1 x 10-6 Farad = 0.1 uF = 0.1 μF

What are the units for 0.002? When I see 0.002 on a schematic, I assume that it means 0.002 μF (2 nF, or 2,000 pF). If that's the case, then 0.002 would be smaller than 0.1 mfd and 0.47 mfd. Am I missing something?

Oh, I see what that is. I couldn't see the image in the first post. It's kind of like bypass caps for more gain at the emitter/source/cathode, except in reverse. For something similar, look at EHX's The Mole/Hog's Foot bass booster. There's a cap in parallel with the collector load. For AC, that cap is part of the collector load and gain drops accordingly when Xc drops. I think it works a bit different in this case though, because the output is take across the transformer instead of at the plate. I don't even want to try to figure out the -3dB frequency. I mean, resistive load would be easy enough. A speaker though?

0.47UF                                                                                                                                                                                             0.002UF is actually bigger than 0.47uf , it is actually almost 3 times as large. 0.001uf is the cap i was using on my treble booster.

I'm still not sure what "POINT B TO POINT B" means on the schematic...

Is 0.002UF different than 0.002uF?  Are you calling both microfarads

that would be .002u, 2n or 2000p all the same value j

This thread has very little info in it and all from regular posters. It has degraded in quality.

If that's the case, the circuit is broken as drawn.

It already was all the time with that high resistance path from power tubes cathodes to ground, but I'm giving Ryan the benefit of a doubt and assume his drawing is showing a concept and not a working amp.
j
Edit.....but benefit if doubt or not, I do think its time for Ryan to give us a soundclip or a pic of his builds or just something more than just big words

+1

0.002 μF = 2nF = 2,000 pF

I'm just trying to understand this statement: 0.002 μF > 0.47 μF.

I'm pretty certain that: 0.002 μF < 0.47 μF

0.002 μF is 235 times smaller than 0.47 μF

2/1000 < 470/1000

If someone offered you a choice between $0.002 million and $0.47 million which would you take (assuming you want the larger pile of cash)?   ;D

The point B to point B means connect point B to point B, point B1 is to the primary tap on your output transformer, it is lead to the B+ primary output from the rectifier.
