Vero layout connections help (echo base explained for a noob please)

Ive previously built a few fuzz and tremolo pedals so have taken the jump up to the echo base.

Ive built the board using the following layout http://www.sabrotone.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/EchoBase.gif

It sounds like a stupid question, but could someone please clarify or explain the connections to the board? Eg, do dry sw 1&2 connect to a single switch? And do mod speed 1,2,3 all connect to a mod speed pot?

So... Are there 5 pots and 6 switches? That seems far too many considering the builds ive seen.

If anyone is aware of a diagram to explain, id be VERY grateful.

Sorry for what is probably very obvious.

Yes looking at that vero yes there 5 pots and 6 switches.

the dry 1,2 connect to a single SPST on-off switch as they only have 2 pins.
and yes the mod 1,2,3 all connect to the mod pot.

if you look at some of the other switches like the Tails switch thats a SPDT on-on switch and has 3 pins.

im only new to all this myself but thats what i see reading the vero.

Also, I don't have my SPST switches yet, can i just connect/disconnect the wires for testing purposes? (a DIY switch I suppose)

I'd assume so as all it is doing is connecting and disconnecting those two wires.

Ok, ive just wired all this up (except switches) but it doesnt seem to take the input signal from the guitar.  The effects appear to be working on something (ambient noise / static?) as i can increase feedback, level, time etc but no guitar signal.

I get clean bypass signal if i use the main switch i installed with led but nothing else. The switch i used is http://www.sabrotone.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/True_bypass_battery.png

Any suggestions of anything obvious i may have missed or could check? Could my 3pdt switch be bypassing the bypass as the 'bypass' connection on the circuit diagram is currently unconnected?

If I understand you right, then no, that's not really a concern.  If the 3pdt is switched to connect the input jack to the board's input and the board's output to the output jack, then you could be connecting a monkey and an elephant on those bottom two pins and it wouldn't make a difference (other than the personal space around your workbench).

Most likely, something is wrong on your board at this point.  Welcome to the wonderful world of patient troubleshooting.  Audio probes and multimeters will be your friends here...

Thanks, I've started poking around with an audio probe and my clean input signal reaches pins 5,6,7 of IC2.  Also reaches R32 but doesnt pass through. However the signal reaches R21.

Also, if I join Dry SW1&2, my input reaches the amp but still with the feedback effects and modulation of ambient sound... not the input.

Any suggestions? Im so confused :(

I've removed and re-solderdered IC2 just in case and have probed with multimeter.  Still having same problems with audio probe stopping very early on in the circuit.

Below are the results, hopefully they mean more to someone than they do to my novice eyes.  A few 0v readings on IC3 and D1 if that means anything?:
