Trotsky Overdrive (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=100604.0) was my First Project. And after a lot of tinkering and head scratching I finally managed to make the pedal work Using this schematic https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwMVia471c4SZERsRVZYMzA4ZWM;D

But, there is a slight problem. The amount of overdrive I'm getting is not much. I had to make sure by comparing my guitar's clean tone with the circuit's tone.  :P

Can u give me a suggestion on how to increase the Overdrive/Distortion?? I tried increasing the collector base resistor but to no avail.   ???

Thanx in Advance. DIY IS FUN  :)

What transistor and diode are you using?
Did you make any substitutions?

You'll likely only get light overdrive from this or other Elekra distortion style circuits.

But for more gain you can try adding an emitter bypass cap. Wire it in parallel with R3 and try values from .1uf to 47uf...if you use a polarized cap, put the negative lead at the ground side.

Lower values will allow only higher frequencies to be further boosted...as you go up in cap value more lows will start to come through. Good luck!

Yippeeeeee!! It works.

I added a10uF cap as u said and reduced the collector base resistor to 10K from 2.2M. Sounds sweet.

Thank u guys.

Next up I'm gonna build the Ruby amp from beavis audio.
Wish me luck. :-)

Thanx again for the help. :-)

Well done that man.
I've built a couple of Noisy crickets that I really like especially for a test rig for my pedals. Good luck.
