Hello,

I have created a few Tonebenders over the last couple of years, and added an LED with success. However, this time something strange is happening.

The above sketch shows how I have wired the LED. What I get is a faint LED glow when the Fuzz is off, and a crackling on the audio signal. When I turn the fuzz on, the LED lights fully and I get Fuzz. Why am I getting interference on the bypass? and why am I getting current to the LED in bypass?

I have obviously done something stupid. Can anyone enlighten me, and the reasons why?

cheers,

closetmonster.

Do you have a resistor wired in with the LED? Also, what offboard layout did you use?

Managed to suss this out. The diagram is correct, but my wiring was slightly different. I had the LED sitting on the wire between switch and 10k resistor. This seemed to be affecting my audio signal. Maybe cheap switch? However, moving it so like the diagram resolved the issue. Phew! :)
