Hey all,
I recently went to the thrift store and spent $3 on a couple of old radios. I found some germanium diodes inside along with some weird transistors.
They are flat on the bottom like many are but they are round on top and do not have much height to them. From the markings on the board they are NPN.
They say IE 535 M on them and they are black and seem like they are plastic. Any ideas what they could be and if I could use them??

Thanks
Mike

IE 535 M   =   NTE 229  NPN silicon (VHF Osc, Mixer, IF Amp)
B E C  (pin designation looking at part, number facing you, leads pointing down.
