No... they are not stolen!  :icon_lol:

These bad boys have some of the highest HFe that I have ever seen with a Germ.

#1 = 1500
#2 = 875

This was tested at Room temp with my Peak meter. Also, both have low to no leakage  :icon_eek:

Have NO idea what they could be used for. A Fuzz Face that melts your face?  :icon_twisted:

Ideas?

That's interesting.
I had a lot of strange very high measurements on some Russian Germaniums with my DCA75.
When I checked them with my DCA50 it turned out that my DCA75 was faulty!!!!
Peak replaced the device within three days.
Excellent customer service.

Hope your Ge's are just 'hot'

I thought about that as well. These 2 devices were in a bag of Germs that I came upon. Also, the testing of these was in the middle of the group. All of the others, before and after, tested fine  :-\

Low to no leakage? They could be rehoused/relabeled Si transistors. With numbers that high I'm skeptical. Also, isn't the low gain of Ge transistors part of their sound?
If at first you don't succeed... use bigger transistors!

Unless it was faked... my Peak meter knows if it is a Germ or Silicon.

The numbers are "house" numbers that I cannot trace. Found them in a drawer at my work with a bunch of other ICs and transistors.

Forget Rangemaster, you need to make a Rangeoverlord.  Might want to include a speaker output on that one...

sounds like a high power ge power amp transistor!!

what's it sound like? i bet it's hissier than trying to force feed a vegetarian a hot dog.

but if it ISN'T.....

one fuzz to rule them ALL..............

I would breadboard those badboys. Some simple circuit. Maybe Jimi's booster? :icon_twisted:

Fire and brimstone bro, fire and brimstone. :icon_wink:

Seriously, just a simple Ge booster circuit test, just to see what would happen. I'll just head up north of 60, and watch the mushroom cloud from there. I'll live off the land thereafter. :icon_mrgreen:

The Peak can be fooled many times & give incorrect info. I'd use RG's method to double-check, or just breadboard a single stage and see if the voltages are what you'd expect from those hfe's.
