I have a old Fulltone Deja vibe that takes a 9v power adapter and then uses a DC-Doubler circuit to step it up to the 18v needed for the uni vibe circuit......but its tiny and gooped, so was wondering if anyone could tell me who they do it with such tiny parts?

From what I can make out its a single cylindrical package no bigger then 1.5cm in height and diameter.

Surface mount parts are available down to sizes that are hard to see.

If the package is metal enclosed, it's probably an inductive step up circuit. If not, it's probably an SMD charge pump setup.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
