Like dissolves like. The pop (generically called Coke in Texas) originally contained water which evaporated leaving behind sugar. Add water back to it to dissolve it again and remove it. Sugar and water are both polar molecules.  I know water was already mentioned, but I just wanted to add the chemistry lesson about what dissolves what.
