I'm ready to build more effects for my studio and Im searching for 19 inch racks to put them in. But damn, those prices!  :icon_eek:
Is there anyone with a good / cheap source? something simple like this:

i have one here that was for a rack computer... like 2 space i think. you'd have to make a new front plate for it probably, but if you wanna pay the shipping on it, it's FREE.

That usually does not go well together. Can you give an upper bound on cheap?

Have you searched the web?

Here is a link http://www.par-metal.com/

Thanks for the link Gus -I'm in the market too - but they are not cheap (at lest relative to a 1590x enclosure) are they.

I built a couple of 19 inch units cheap by using a 19 inch blanking plate then screwing standard diecast boxes to the back. If I remember correctly, the plate was about £5 and I had 3 effects on it plus a couple of insert points. I used a 2U plate for mine. I countersunk the attachment screws and popped a vinyl label sheet over the whole thing. Looked fine in the rack but a bit weird out of it.

I know DavidGiandiletti is going to be making enclosures, you may want to hit him up for pricing.

Mouser carries the following, among the cheapest of the rack mount enclosures the carry, still about $53 cdn ... and w/o a cover a plate.

wow! thanks guys! I found enclosures for 40 Euros (about 55$) but I thought that was expensive. Seems like that's a normal price.. for me the musikding would be the best option (distance wise)
Thanks again.. hope this can be helpful to people with the same question as well.

I like the size of the Hammond 1444, which is roughly half a rack width. Not a bad price, even when you buy the separate base plate.
