The typical DC panel plug for stompboxes are rated 1A max, are there any high current DC jacks?
These Neutrik powerCON (http://www.neutrik.com/en/audio/powercon/powercon-20-a/) can take 20A, but are not cheap (http://www.musikding.de/PowerCon_1). I was looking for something up to 10A (maybe less).  Some ref. in Europe?

Thanks.

Are there any DC uses beside stomp-boxes??

The car world is full of connectors; though many are not made for nightly plugging.

Computer hard-drive connectors will take massive(?) current. (? I don't know what you call "high".)

Spend a month with any full-line electronic catalog (Allied, DigiKey, Mouser, etc) and you will find more many-Amp connectors than you can fit in a truck.

Tip: if you promise not to plug it the wrong place, get the battery connector for radio-controlled cars.

Ham radios often use a 6pin molex connector for the DC power supply often running quite a bit of current. Some googling says that the large ones are good for 8.5A per pin with appropriate wire.

Lately these have become popular http://www.andersonpower.com/products/singlepole-connectors.html

ZVEX's nano head uses a "typical" DC plug, rated 1.25A?!?!? I've used these plugs to deliver 1A to my amps, but I'm not convinced they would last very long with an intensive use, although I use my small amp every day (and no problems yet).

I looked for panel laptop type plugs on the typical on-line stores, but found none, have to try again.

Cheers.

That's a hard promise to keep!
