Do I put it in the place of the 1uf just after the input buffer?
I think this 1uf is just right of centre of the board next to the 47uf. in the tonepad layout

I can't see the mod, not a member of Bean's forum but that 1uF cap would be the place to add something that gave tails. Yeah that cap is the one on the right in the middle of the board.

You need to keep the cap in the Magnus modulus I know.  The the input buffer output cap, series 10k res, little cap to ground inthere, 1 M res to ground, series switch, 1m to ground. FYI I don't know your mod, but the above methods means your delay stompswitch will not bypass truly.  That's why you get the tails lingering on of course. Mine sounds clean when the delay is off, measures very flat response. And the diodes in the feedback section are great- oscillation gain is limited and won't blow up your amp.

thanks Ian

Blackie the 1uf cap is replaced in the tails mod with a 100nf upwards cap so the cap is effectively still there.

I'll take a look see the magnus thanks

One more question
can i use a J113 for the fet?

Ian its a bit small but you might be able to see the mod in this thread

I'm betting you could just as easily use a DPDT instead of that whole sub-circuit. One pole to connect/disconnect the delay sidechain input, the other to turn the led on and off.

Details:
For bypass switching: Put pin 1 on the output of the first op-amp, pin 2 in front of the 1uF cap, and pin 3 on Vb (to avoid switch popping).
For the led: pin 4 on the led cathode, pin 5 on ground, pin 6 unconnected.

That's how I set up the tails on the All-Star Reverb, and it works great.

Yeah you should be able to use a DPDT like that or use it to ground the signal somewhere between the buffer and delay, I've done it that way.

J113 should be fine Rich.

Just one more dumb question..........
Do I leave the 1uf cap in and just add wires for the fet tails mod or remove the 1uf?

Does the mod include a cap after the fet? If it does leave out the 1uF, if it doesn't put the mod between the opamp output and the 1uF cap. Have a look at Merlin's small time delay to see how the mod should go, the mod is a copy of the tails switch in that.

Thanks Ian
I'll take a look at the small time too.
Yes im sure the mod has a cap after the fet btw
