I've seen some youtube videos of people achieving a sax-like tone with a fuzz and envelope filter; stuff like that...so just wanted to know - -  what's the best way to get a really good sax tone (with a guitar,of course) - - whether it means cascading certain circuits (if so, then which ones would work best) - - what are the implications in terms of audio electronics theory etc..? Would love to know a little more about this. The idea was to put the entire setup in a single box; instant Coltrane :)

Maybe a link to such a video might help understand what you're trying to achieve.
Ma throats as dry as an overcooked kipper.

Werent here a post about this? Someone took a mic to saxophone converter and mod it to accept guitar signals. The coverter was some kind of toy.. Ill look if i see something

yep, seen this...but how can this be taken further?

maestro fuzz...story goes that keith richards wanted a sax section to perform the classic riff but the session guys were either late or didn't show up for the overdub. that's the beauty of guitar fxs...they can voice other instruments.
