Hi everyone. Ive got a green muff that a friend gave me and it passes signal when bypassed but kills all signal when the pedal is engages. The only thing ive done to it is replace the 9v battery clip leads. Other than that this is how i got it. Still have the original footswitch for it as well

Thank you very much for anyone that can help me get it working again!
Ps there is a white wire going from the top pole of the footswitch to what looks to be a 35k resistor under the output jack.  Dont know why

Thank you everyone

If you can read a schematic, then Kit Rae's site is the place to go to trace through this puppy for troubleshooting. This page should show your version (about 1/3 of the way down the page);

Thanks. I can read them enough to get myself confused, unfortunately

I can solder and take directions really well though. And have a big box full of components if something needs to be replaced

The debugging thread is very helpful. It's a sticky on the forum. Otherwise, the first place I would start to look is the foot switch. Aren't they prone to failure? You could use a DMM to check for continuity and an audio probe to make sure it's getting to and from the circuit.

The footswitch is currently replaced by a dpdt wah pedal style switch. Signal goes thru when bypassed but dies when i turn the pedal on

I think it may be a bad footswitch. Im trying to replace ot with a dpdt x wing stomp switch. Can anyone tell me which color wires go on which lugs of the footswitch please?

01downer

Mine read roughly about the same.

Ive tried the original footswitch and a new dpdt footswitch in just about every way of wiring them that i could think of.  I either get clean bypassed and no signal when engaged or distortion working when engaged and no signal at all when disengaged

LucifersTrip

if you're worried about the foot switch being good, just bypass it with a clip lead and see what you get...then, you've at least eliminated one
thing from the equation

Make sure the input/output jacks are not swapped. I've spent hours debugging pedals only discover this.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Still no luck though unfortunately

If you are getting the distorted sound as you said, it's a footswitch problem, no? There are wiring guides on the site that was linked in the second post of this thread. The V7C/V7D and V8 boards look exactly like the PCB you have shown a picture of. You will be able to get the wiring correct from those.
