Noob Output Volume Question.

Hey guys,

Just a quick, silly question. My pedal has a 10kA volume pot. Its got craploads of output though. Unity gain is about 10 o'clock. Whats the easiest way to cut back the max volume a little? I could never roll it up full as it is.

Not a major issue, just wondering how to make it a little more practical.

Cheers,
Steve.

You can usually put a resistor in series with the "top" lug of the V pot, which basically makes it like a bigger pot that doesn't go all the way up.  Either wire a 10K pot as variable resistor in there, twiddle it till you get the max volume you want, and then measure to find an appropriate R value, or set the existing pot where you want for max, measure both sides of the wiper, figure the proportion, and then figure out the R value.
