Hey, I got this pedal for almost free...it's a non working 80s TOKAI TOD-1 - it's just a SD-1 verbatim copy...
now, this thing doesn't work...

I have 6.4v with a non fresh battery, but my multimeter reads 1.2 on the 9v trace and 0.6 at the 4.5v trace.
audioprobing, signal stops at the base of the input buffer.

any clues/suggestions?!

find the reverse polarity protection diode. lift one end, check voltages. you might get lucky.
You hold the small basket while I strain the gnat.

wow thanks so much!!! You were definitely right! Removed the diode and the pedal works as it should!!!
nothing special, it sounds like a SD-1 because...it's the same!!! I studied the PCB which is obviously different, but the components are verbatim! A carbon copy of the yellow one...
Thank you again!
