Help with soldering long leads with wire insulators

i don't doubt magnification would be of some help, Karbo - i'm just a bit scatterbrained and short on desk space as it is for the moment. i find examining boards right at my face under a bright light helps.

strangely, just before typing this, i randomly looked over to a tool catalogue with a photo of a big magnifier lamp on the back! weird.
