Drivetto: a one transistor overdrive from ideas stolen here and there

Hallo, since Gus posted this http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=107858.0 using a quite unusual base biasing method, I want to share a little circuit that's on my breadboard right now.

It's stolen from bazz fuss, the muffer, and lot and lot of other designs. The only thing I find quite nice is the diodes arrangement: it let the circuit go from clean boost (well, almost clean actually) to a nice overdrive. Not fuzz.

I have no sound clips, but if you whant to give it a go, it will take only two minutes on the breadboard.
The schematic is terrible I know, but on this pc I have only schematic express and no paint to edit the image, sorry (maybe something drawn by hand would have been better).
