Looking for some low profile 47uf caps for a 1590a build. I'm guessing mouser is the best place to look for this, what exactly are the dimensions for a low profile cap?

Mouser has data sheets for almost all of the products they sell.

The size will be on the data sheet.

Dimensions for any given µf depends on the voltage.

And the smaller the size, the more they cost. Nothing is free!~  :icon_wink:
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

You should probably look for something 5-7mm high. Check this search at Mouser: http://goo.gl/BiXLzt

I really like the Panasonic KA series. If you're not going to throw more than 16V at it, you can get some low profile stuff for a quarter each or so.

The standard seems to be 11mm height so anything lower than that would work depending on your needs. Just be aware that some sacrifice footprint for height IE some will be 6mm X 7mm which may or may not be a problem for you, just something to pay attention to. I think I've ordered 5mmX 7mm 47uf caps before. The new site pedal parts and kits affiliated with guitarpcb has low profile electros I believe http://www.pedalpartsandkits.com/store/ that might be worth checking out. I haven't ordered from them personally. If that is all you need to order it might be worth ordering from them.

Also with mouser look for the quantity discount. Some will be around 25-35 cents or more a piece but then go down to like 15 cents if you order 10 or more.

+1. The ones I linked to at the end of my post above are $0.26ea, but go down to $0.11 in a quantity of 10+.

Madbean has put together a 1590A build doc with direct links to suggested parts, including low profile electro caps, suitable for the small boxes.

Excellent stuff. Madbean is brilliant. Thanks Dave :)

And while we're on the topic of 1590A's...

I do have those 5mm height electrolytics.

I can't yet stock 1/8 watt resistors, because we are out of storage space. But those are on the list of future adds.
