Hey all,

Just thought I would share what Andy and I have been working on.

I gave Andy a shopping list of what I thought the Frostwave Resonator should be capable of, and "The Man" delivered an awesome board that fits into a Crybaby shell. We had a few hiccups along the way, but I'm slowly finishing the prototype. Here are a few pictures. I present, The Tresonator;

In a nutshell, it's a Frostwave Resonator, with all the normal Resonator controls on the sides. At the front end, we find four, 3 position, rotary switches, which allow for CV to be fed to the parameter of choice via the treadle. The center position is OFF, and one side is + to - sweep, and the opposite position is - to + sweep. In other words, you can have any parameter you choose sweep up, while having another sweep down. The dual gang pot is wired as such, to handle one going up, while the other goes down. The red/green LED's indicated which parameter has been chosen for treadle control, red for + (up), and green for - (down).

The side controls can also be used in conjunction with the treadle, setting limits to a particular parameter being controlled. Super bonus.

Degree of difficulty? Well, Andy did design a beautiful little daughterboard for the CV switches and LED's, using slide switches, but I passed on it, preferring to use my rotary switches. It may have taken a bit more time, saved space, and looked neater, but it was a personal decision to speed up the build. I place this somewhere between a Ludwig, and maybe the Infinitphase vero build. Lots of off board wiring, in a confined space. Not for the faint of heart, or if you suffer from Parkinson's. :icon_mrgreen:

I should have a video out soon.... as soon as I figure out how it works.  :D

Wow! Where does that bundle of wire go that runs of the side?

Flux capacitor. :D

Footswitch. That's going in today.

Wow...

That´s... obsessive behaviour!

:icon_mrgreen:

Digi, you are not too far from building an analog synth. Have you thought about that? Miles and miles of wiring, millions of patch cables, pure unreliability, all that to make a "Bleep!"

;D

Great work.

that's what I said. I thought I saw some empty space in the shell, but it was a trick of the light. that's going to be some instruction manual ......

Kudos, but it reminds me of the old fake commercial on SNL about the wristwatch that takes two hands to operate. :icon_wink:

I think we need a new award around here...called 'But it goes to 11'.  I nominate this pedal  ;D

I NEED one of those boards!

There is some empty space in the shell, but the flux capacitor and the stomp switch are going in there.

OK, completed unit;

And of course, the customary Hen's Tooth Café video. Sorry for the length, but like DA called it, there's a lot to cover here. Feel free to skip the blablabla, and cut to noise making if I bore you. :icon_mrgreen:

I'd like to hear this with a drive pedal in front.  I bet it would be pretty cool sweeping through all those harmonics.  great pedal!

@aab0mb

I'm pretty sure that on the video Dino says he used a fuzz face in front of the Tresonator.
