i know there's a lot of info and discussion on inductorless wah's around the diy community.  I LOVE the sound of the colorsound inductorless wah i've played.  But building a vero from a layout at tagboardfx I could not get it to sweep well.  it was working but from using regular 16mm pots (unfortunately i cannot remember exact values) I needed a pot with a sweep that i figured was unobtainable in the world of pots for a crybaby.  I know the inductorless colorsound has a weird mechanism of the way it rotates the pot vs foot sweep

Has anyone had GREAT results with a vero (preferred but open to pcb) inductorless layout?  Preferably with a standardgcb-95  crybaby pot.  I'd really appreciate a recommendation!

the ILW uses a standard 16mm 100kb (linear) pot..

IIRC the mechanisim rotates about 90° of a total of 270°, that's 1/3, 33k or so.
But 33k is enough to get nice lows. The rest of the pot is not used.

I had good results with less than that, <25k.
So I decided to use a moving LDR in a plastic tube with a red LED at the bottom.
No scratchy pots, but a couple of issues:
- LDR wires have some stress as they move up and down, but if they are thick enough they'll last a lot of time, and
- getting the right LED/LDR pair is tricky.
