As many have said before me there are a lot of great, patient and kind people in here. In fact, I would probably rate this forum as of the friendliest and nicest place on the web and I would like to send a bunch of love to everybody in this fantastic place! People who made this place special for me are (but not limited to) Mark Hammer,  Tempus, PRR,  Slacker, duck_arse (even though your name is a little bit.. weird and offensive ) and pinkjimiphoton.

The server does not know when you are reading, only when you load pages. The forum software takes a guess: if page-loads come within 15(??) minutes, you are "online", if not, it assumes you are gone.

In particular: if you are doing something else, but peek in here several times an hour, you can rack-up a lot of "elapsed time" without much actual eyeball time.

OTOH, if you hit one of R.G.'s massive missives, and spend an hour reading and another hour digesting, that's two hours "on forum" but you might only get "credited"(?) for 15 minutes.
