How do you stabilize the battery?

Hey guys.

I've built the NPN Boost and the battery is simply sitting there. It's bouncing around when you move the pedal and it gives a very amateurish feeling.
How do I stabilize it inside the pedal?

Thanks

I bought a piece of grey sound insulation foam a long time ago.  It has "sticky" on one side.

I cut it into strips/pieces, and stick it inside the enclosure in the battery areas-- works and looks good.
I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

I find the pink foam that (non-static-sensitive) chips often come packed in is useful for cutting into shape to hold the battery.  Many small appliances will come packed with stiff foam that you can cut to shape.  Worse comes to worse, I use pieces of what gets sold as "Fun Foam" in hobby/crafts shops, and wrap the battery in it to keep it from bouncing around.

Finaly, there is a lot to be said for planning out the location of your stompswitch so that the battery is held firmly between the side of the switch, and the chassis wall.  be careful, though, because 9v batteries can sometimes vary in size, such that an Eveready Classic will fit but an Alkaline won't.

I prefer to avoid adhesives, because they can decompose after a while, leaving a sticky mess.

If you leave the proper space you can "hammer" it between stompswitch and case.. :icon_lol:
(serving also for an extra locking device for the switch..) :icon_wink:

at voting time here downunder, the wretched pollies all stick up their picture on power poles, printed on "corflutes". also real estate signs, to let, for sale. two sheets of polysomething, with a corrugated sheet sandwiched between. after the voting is finished, you can collect the pollies (my fave has jullia gillard on, I'm saving that one) and then CARVE THEM UP to yr hearts content, to make panels and holders and separators and spacers, all sorts of stiff plastic panel things. you can cut with scissors too.

Sorry for the offtopic but when i read the topic title I thought this was gonna be a weird question about battery voltage stabilization. Thank god it is not :)

I cut a battery sock from a bicycle inner tube and use heavy duty adhesive backed velcro to stick the sock and battery to the enclosure.
