I saw in the post about the yellow mode of the Boss pedal the possibility to switch between 3 channels with 1 stompswitch.

Can someone please provide an example or a brief explanation as to how it works?
I love these mind opening ideas, they help me be creative  ;D

Thanks guys!

Electronic bypass is one application where one impulse (pressing a momentary switch) controls two states (on or bypassed). A flip-flop can only count to two (0, 1). What we need is a system that can count to three. You can do that by cascading two flip-flops or using a digital counter IC.

And let's be clear that we're not talking about a DPDT or 3PDT type stompswitch, but rather a momentary switch.

Note that some pedals  use a technique whereby an alternate effect mode is engaged when the pedal is put into effect mode and the momentary is held down for some minimum duration.  See the schematic for the Boss DF-2 for an example of this.
