Please Help Troubleshoot - TS808 Clone Kit

Hi Folks, I could really use some help troubleshooting a problem I'm having with a clone that I built. Its my first project. I cannot figure out what / why I have constant static when I engadge the switch. It's really frustrating me. I found something on Premier Guitar that said static could be caused by a problem with the switch itself so I removed it, messed up the switch in the process then ordered a new board and most of the parts from the kit again. After rebuilding, still the same fricking static. I bought the kit from mammoth electronics and it's an Arcadia Kit http://www.mammothelectronics.com/Arcadia-808-Overdrive-Kit-p/kit-arc-808od.htm

Hi Gadget, welcome to the forum!  These problems are frustrating, I know, but only have a few basic causes.  Usually it's something crossed in the wiring when you put it together, like having the switch turned 90 degrees or something.  A broken from box switch is much less common. I don't see the clip on the page, sorry!
Disconnected input wires, and missing grounds tend to be common causes of static-like noise like you describe...accidentally connecting output AS input as the switch, and vice versa (reversing in and out)....hard to say without more info.

Go read this page, and post the info it asks for, ok?  Usually the trouble is pretty easy to find with some patience - we all make the same mistakes, and that makes it easier to tell someone where to look
