Ok, im getting alot of confusion on this, i am by no means an expert here, but i have done my fair share of electronics, and even have a DIY 10w valve head.

However this is my first guitar pedal, a TS80 clone, im stuck on the DC jack.

From what i can see, following this guide
http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/thoughts/wiring-up-a-1590b/

that it uses a different kind of DC jack to what is available, the one i have switches on the outer lug, that earths on the chassis.

Knowing that, what is the best route here? source a panel jack that isnt metal, if so anyone know any australian suppliers?

Yes.

You are looking for a plastic (isolated) 2.1mm x 5.5mm panel jack.

Check with the suppliers in your area or....EBay Australia.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

The link pictures a "no battery" power setup.

If that is what you are doing, you don't need a switched jack ( as pictured there )

Here is an Australian supplier for a non-switched DC jack.

They are smaller than the switched jacks. That's a bonus in a 1590a build.

He's got some pretty cool stuff on that site, check it out.

Edit:

Here is another AU supplier, this time with some switched jacks suitable for builds with a battery option:

Paul, chromesphere, (www.diyguitarpedals above) is a good supplier even if you're on the other side of the planet.
