I have two rotarys, this larger 12 position one that I think will be pretty simple :

However the complicated one will be this one that I have :

The first one seems very much like the diagram listed for the TAPLFO Chip,
however the smaller one seems a little harder to figure out .

The 6 throw common rotor contact is called "R" - it seems to have 2 terminals for that. It's only got 6 positions, you can use it but you would have to fit the entire resistor chain and simply select 2 choices you can't have  ;D.

The 12 way can be restricted to only allow 8 positions.

:D I was hoping to use the first for the 8 pos thing and the second for the Division portion I think it's 6

By Division do you mean the Multiplier control?
... then you use the full resistor string and  wire the 6 throw #1 contact to the top of R4 and on thru to #6 wired to the top of R9. Ignore the top 2 connections as it says in the pdf "The top two options are not used for the Multiplier."
