Footswitches that aren't so clicky clicky?

I've been building a bunch of pedals and the standard loud CLICK footswitch is starting to drive me mad. Anyone know of any good, relatively quiet 3PDT switches? The ones polytune uses seem ok.

Thanks in advance!

We were just covering this over the last couple days.  I just bumped it up so you can find it.  MC
I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

You can get absolutely silent - as long as you're willing to get silent momentary switches (which exist) and use those to tell a logic circuit and semiconductor switching what to do. I designed similar stuff for my day job.

For some hints, read geofex.com. There's a LOT of stuff there on switching in all flavors, including completely silent switches. Look for "pancake switches".

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
