Wah mod

Hi guys, first post here.

I have a Vox v847 wah that I recently did a true bypass mod on. Switched on it squeals. So far the switch is the only thing changed. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Input and output wires reversed?

I don't believe so, I followed the the mod pretty closely. I'll double check it though. But, wouldn't that prevent it from working? The effect switches on, but it does sound a bit harsh.

In and out switched would cause the seagull sound
