This what has happened until now powered it by 9,12,18 volts biased to half of the supply volt. used bf245c didn't have anything else and can't get any other FETs actually. At 9 volt no sound whatsoever at 12 slight hum, at 18 loud hum but no sound. The volume pot works. Please help guys!!!

GPCB offer their own forum help for their projects.

Have you posted on there you'll find lots of people that have made the circuit and the guy that designed it will also help.

Looking at the build doc biasing is key to this circuit I can see immediately that the pin out for your transistor type is opposite to the recommended 2N5457, MPF102's so you'd want to turn your transistors around if you haven't already - opposite to the PCB silkscreen what are the drain voltages on your FET's they should be biased to 5v using the trimmers. I'd also do a datasheet comparison between the transistor types.

If you've already turned your transistors around and it didn't work then I'd advise starting a thread in the support gpcb boards and not the support other builds forum on gpcb

This build per the Build Document needs to be Biased properly to work correctly.
It also must only be powered with 9 volts or you will throw the Bias way off.
It is specifically designed to be extremely easy to Bias and sound great using MPF102's.

You Drain Bias needs to be 4.5 to 5V on all three Drain legs of MPF102 and it will sound just like the demo.

You may also choose to use 2N5457s. You may need to make a simple adjustment to the board in 3 sections to bias Properly.

If you need more help we have many excellent Moderators to help you out. We never let anybody stranded.

The video is using 3 MPF102s. They are still available from many places (USA and Europe) including eBay and myself if you cannot find them elsewhere

Thanks guys for the replies I have already registered on the gpcb forum. But when i try to log in it says my account is pending an approval from the moderator. Yeah i turned the fets 180° . No fets apart from bf245c n bfw11 are available in my locality. So cant substitute. Buying from abroad is also out of the question no credit card or PayPal account. I have 6 bf245c s .

There is a link right above where you sign in that says Contact Me if you need Login help.
I will need to know your Username and I can fix any issue, as long as I am aware of it.

As for buying parts that is a pretty tough situation.

If it helps I know in the USA you can go to most convenience stores, or Walmart etc... and purchase a PrePaid VISA Credit Card from $20 up to $500 for a very small surcharge, (they are re-loadable) if you do not have any other options available to you, that seems like the next best thing.
Some have little to no charge at all depending where you get them.
