Pedal steel players use very low profile volume pedals. Especially if you have long legs. (And usually passive I believe). The standard ones cost a fortune. Does anyone know of a housing I can use, some means of building one for pedal steel?

Morleys are a bit high up in heel elevation, apparently. At least my old broken one is.
Force sensing resistors - hmm!   Sandwiched in a ....,  um,  a door hinge mounted to a small enclosure for the jacks? Wait - a 1590a, with two bottom covers - the bottom-most being upside down, with rubber feet. I dunno.  Have to think about that one.  I think I saw one with a max force of 22lbs - I'll have to sit down and put my fit on a scale.
Suppose I mounted a bright LED on a bracket, about one Chuck Taylor's width away from an LDR? Could be cool.
The psg community likes a lot of passive volume pedals, some active, and these things list for a lot of dough. 130-230$, more, and then there's this thing http://www.tpa-az.com/page3.htm
Some folks (I've joined a forum over there, nice folk) have their amps (always a s.s. Peavey!) cranked up high in order to get all they need out of the lowest range of the pot, never maxing the pedal out.
