This is merely and updated version of Craig Andersons Directo-Matic

A really nice preamp for recording into my audio interface (line in).
Features
Gain
Input switching for guitar or effects.
Phase polarity switch.
Ground lift
Parallel in/output. Note this is not included in the schematic.
Xlr out

I found I don't need to use the gain at all.
No problems using guitar or effects in.
I checked the ground lift and it just added noise. But just in case I wanted to include it.
Phase switching a good idea from Sam Hay thanks for the development help fella.
Parallel out because then I could simultaneously record an amp with the same performance.
Then you could also double parts and even add effects from say a vst or guitar amp sims.
If anyone finds any errors in the schematic or other issues let me know.
Thanks again to Sam. And every other inspirational members whom have guided me in the past.
Rock on guys

Hello Kipper,
I can't see the pictures.
I'm looking for a good way to record guitar and testing builds, since I'm living without an amp.  :icon_neutral:
Would this help me with signal through my interface?
How could I setup to test my builds as if would sound in a real amp?

Guitar>DIY Pedal>Audiobox>Guitar Rig>Headphone monitoring ?

Yer I really should get around to updating this.

I use an M audio delta 66 interface and it works great with it. Google it if you want the specs to see how close it would be to your set up.

This has a bipolar power supply using the ICL7660s chip +9v Gnd -9V IIRC
Its not that scary just an 8pin dip and a couple of caps. 2x 10uf, 1x 47nf

Mean time have a look at Andertons Directomatic.
Ill get round to this as soon as possible
If your an eagle use PM me for the eagle schematic

PS
How could I setup to test my builds as if would sound in a real amp?

Build a 1watt test amp like the ruby or noisy cricket its an idea starter project.
Not that i think your a novice Guerrilla Music, I dont know what experience you have.
I built two using speakers i found in the loft from an old reel to reel machine. For testing pedals only. So I dont have to use my better ones.
I probably wouldnt reccomend using it to record though. YMMV.
Its ages since i messed with guitar rig, hmmmm probabaly since i started this, hut hum, Hobby. That is taking over...........
If you are a novice escape now while you still have a life :):):):)

The directs out put on mine uses a XLR socket but you could use a TRS 1/4".
the op amp used is a ne5532n or lm833.
There are several uses of Bipolar Capacitors to just to warn you.
I used 2 back to back (series) 22uf because it was cheaper in the place of the BP10ufs.

Andersons directo-matic is a two channel direct box btw my rework is a single channel
I think if you click on the second picture it should take you to my pictures page.
I'll see if I can repost it for you see if that works.
