The Thomas Organ company went out of business in 1978. Your pedal was built in Chicago, you can tell this by both the bottom plate and the stack of dimes inductor. It also uses 5117 transistors. Now, according to this table, 5117 transistors were used starting in 1972. I don't know if anyone has put together a table based on serial numbers to correlate with manufacturing dates, but its safe to say yours is a 70's vintage.

FWIW: I have one of these, serial #2084352. The board is the same including model number on paper, pot is the same as yours, with the additional number 8108 stamped on it, between the "024-005318-03" and "Mexico". I believe mine is completely original.

I came across this post a few days ago searching for some information since I just came into possession of a Cry Baby [Thomas Organ Co./Sepulveda, CA] pedal. I'm also curious as to what year my pedal is from (I think it's early 70's), and what would be a reasonable selling price for it. The pedal is clean, no major scratches on the body, and was tested to make sure it works.

It seems some describe pedals with a stack of dimes to not be from California, yet mine is an original from Sepulveda, CA, (bottom plate reads "THOMAS ORGAN CO./SEPULVEDA, CALIFORNIA"). That I'm aware of, no modifications were ever made to this pedal. To not take up so much space here, I would like to share a link to ten pictures I took of the pedal, and hopefully someone would be able to orientate me better. I would really appreciate any information/help from any of you.

I have a similar unit, also with the 4-digit AB pot code of 8105 that AnalogMan also confirmed for me was early 1981.  Has the stack of dimes inductor, and can't imagine it sounds much different than any other year using the same components.  I true-bypassed mine because the tone-suck on these is pretty bad.

Good God that's a clean unit...

I have an old Dunlop Crybaby that has one of those '03' inductors. Any one have any idea what year it is?

If the pot is original, it may have a date code on it.  The other components likely do not.  Other than that, I'd say it looks 80's.  Maybe somebody here knows when certain component types were added/dropped and can give you a more specific answer.
