I just finished this today. 0603 caps and resistors.

That's cool, what schematic did you use? I tried the "supposedly correct" Dan Armstrong schematic but it didn't work. Are you planning on installing it in a guitar?

I used the New Clipper schematic. It's a cool circuit. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this yet. I think I might do a 1590LB.

The New Clipper is the one I based mine on, changed a few things, made more thick, bassy, increased distortion a bit for longer sustain, etc. I really like it but there is no way I could build something that small,  :P Good Job!

It's actually pretty simple as long as you have good magnification. Here is a crappy video I created showing the soldering on a SOIC-8. I'm going really slow because I was using a USB microscope that was really laggy. Usually something like that would take about the same amount of time as soldering a DIP.
