Can anyone familiar with using a cab simulator watch this Youtube video and let me know what they think of this pedal?

Cabsim demos on clean channels are pretty much useless.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any cab simulator (in a pedal) you would recommend?

Thanks

It's digital or so it says. Not that this is be a bad thing, as long as it sounds good.. But that remains to be heard.

Sort of inline with this one by Mooer.. a few demos on the tube but nothing overly stunning

Both Chinese mass produced boxes..

This guy MaxZ makes great cab sims and makes by hand.. Sells them for cheap but you have to contact him by email or facebook. Transactions are through paypal. I bought a couple of his pedals a couple years ago and they were excellent builds! I have been tempted to get a couple of his cab sims but haven't pulled the trigger yet..

I've always said digital ones are hard to beat. Unfortunately there aren't a lot in pedal format. Two I know of are the AMT Pangea and Logidy EPSI.
What I'd really love would be a stereo one (with different impulses on each channel). That's what's missing from my own pedalboard.
But as long as you're considering the analog route, why not just build one yourself?

Thanks!

I am thinking of building one. I found the Simple Cabsim rev 2.0 that Jok3rx highly recommended in a tread, and also the Multicab sim from DSM noisemaker layouts.

Time for me right now is limited with (2) young kids, and I saw the AROMA ASR-3 for cheap, less than $50.00 shipped to me.

But is it that cheap because it is not to good? That is why I started this subject, just to see what all of you might think of it, that have used cab sim's before.

Thanks
Rob

I found a YouTube of the pedal with a distortion pedal:

Again I have never used a cabinet simulator, and curious of peoples opinion of how this sounds to them that have used cabinet simulators?

Thanks

Yet instead of recording it direct with his UX1, he records the speakers with a crappy camera mic.  ::)
I should write up a gear demo how-to.

Taking into consideration that he recorded it with the camera mic as FiveseveN pointed out, it sounds pretty damn good to me! I have used and built a lot of cab/speaker simulators and this one sounds really good to me! If you can get one for $30, $40 or even $50 or even more I would go for it if it's what you want... For $30 or $40 it really is a no brainer, to me anyway. He is using the Tight Metal also which is a preamp and I am very familiar with that pedal  :icon_wink: Sounds good to me, go for it...

Thanks for the information. It is only about $37.00, so I think I will get it.

Thanks again!!!

Yes I bought it, and it works good. I have nothing to compare it to. I think it is analog.

I am now thinking of trying a new one, Mooer Audio Radar, which is a digital one.

Anyone have any other thought on cheap good ones. I love Two Notes, but I cannot spend that much money for just playing at home with.

Or any thoughts on which one to DIY? On the Aroma ASR-3 I have I mostly just use the three settings that are all 4x12. The three settings are:

V30 = Celestion
GB = Green Back
MB = Mesa Boogie

Thanks
Rob

You bought a pedal and haven't opened it up yet?! What kind of DIYer are you? ;D

To follow up on my last reply, looks like the dude recorded a proper demo in the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtppqA5e4uE

I was going to ask the same question...  What are you waiting for? :) Open, open.. open..

Hi,

I built a ROG Condor cab sim into my headphone amp and it works very well. I actually like its tone more than my Ampeg combo. One thing I don't like is the gain knob which distorts too soon.

It is a simple project if you want to build it.

caspercody

I did open it when I first got it, and if I remember it is analog. I can re-open it and take pictures if you want?
