Is that how it would work?

Yep.
Cool.

Thanks a lot for teaching me these things, it's brilliant.

I checked my current TL074, and yeah, pin 3 get 4.70V Dc ish, and th rest of the pins only around 0.6v dc, with pin 8 only around 0.3v dc, slowly draining to nil.

I've got some TL074 on order....Just hoping its gonna stop there, because the brick is expensive as far as components go......!!!!

I just wanted to let you all know that I've replaced the TL074 and that my box of Hall reverb works perfectly again!!!!

It's a very nice reverb indeed, very pleased to get it back and not to have to replace the brick.

I'll be fitting a 1N4001 on the V regulator the next time I whip out my soldering iron.

Thank you all for your expertise, sound advice and for explaining things in a way I can understand it - much appreciated.

I've raised my glass to this forum tonight - and it was a pretty nice beer too. :D

Here it is. It's really lovely.:)

Glad to hear both that you got it fixed, and that you celebrated by drinking proper beer ale.

Oh, we need these badgers. Nothing stinking about them.
