Hey guys, another weekend project for those who are interested. A small styrofoam cutter that i've build so i can make pedals protections that are fitted inside the cardboard boxes.
Hope you will find it useful (especially those who are selling pedals)

Great project. What were the resistor values and how did you calculate what you needed for them?

gtudoran

+Finom1 - The resistors are 5 x 33 ohm in parallel (20W per piece) so that would give around 6.6OHM resistor.
The result was made by experiment because i was a little bit too lazy to do it, but also the PSU is way too bigger for this project, the voltage should be around 9 to 12V @ 3-4 amps but that depends a lot on what filament /wire you are using. I'm using a 0.3 (if i remember well) NiCr wire from some house appliance that looks like this:
They are used for electrical heaters like this:
The whole resistor was is rated for 220V but i will buy some 0.1 NiCr wire for the final version and see how it goes.

I'm sorry for double post but i've forgot a small details. For those are interested, here you can find a small primer about wires/ current ratings etc

Thank you for sharing. Great solution to a packing problem.
