on/ off box

Hi everyone. First post here. I have done my share of soldering over the years, but am a complete noob when it comes to stomp boxes. What I am building is a box with an on/off switch and led, using battery and DC out. No effect or circuit board, just on and off. I have 1/4 inch in and out jacks, DC out, and a 3P3T switch, but am not sure how to wire it to make the led work.

Sorry, I'm not clear what you're trying to do. What's an "on/off box"? Do you want a box that stops signals going through it? Or a box the switches between a "dry" (non-effected) and a "wet" (with effects) path?

do you have resistors or a trim pot?  the LED will explode if you hook it up directly to your DC power...

So, a foot-controlled "mute", so you can answer the phone and come back, knowing that the reason you don't hear anything from the amp is because the mute is on?

Or are you looking for something momentary, that could even be used like a stutter pedal?

If he has 1/4" in and out jacks, then chances are that he's not talking about switching the power supply.

But what's puzzling me is the nature of his game:

I am more puzzled about the

I suppose people are assuming 3PDT and DC in. But I am a curious (as in: "interested in understanding things") sort of person...I'll just wait and see.

But where's the big copper coil thingy?  I mean, I guess you could use a gyrator in it's place, but only a wimp would do that.

I think we should develop the DC out and 3P3T switch idea. Maybe subs the LED with a solar panel could put us on the right path.
