Hi everyone , i want to build a big muff with a clean blend for my bassist friend , and im stuck between the Mini Jfet Blend , Split n' Blend and Buff n' Blend . Here are the layouts :

I really wanted to use the Mini JFet Blend because of the small footprint , it would be easier to fit inside the enclosure with the Big muff which requires relaitively big space (vero) . The input get split between the buffer and the circuit , while with the other 2 the input first goes to the buffer , then gets split . So which would be the best option ? Thanks

I would try the mini jfet blend, if you loose some treble off the clean signal because it's being split before the buffer then just move the send to the source of the fet which basically makes it into a buff 'n' blend. The only difference is the buff 'n' blend has a volume control on the return but you don't need that because you've already got one on the big muff.

Neat idea.
Consider adding one (?)dpdt on-off-on switch. One way puts a simple lowpass on the fuzz, a high pass on the clean, middle has no filter, third does the opposite filter.

Ridiculously-simple option: I did this for a bassist friend a couple of years ago - he's still raving about it to this day.

Made a BM and put a mini jfet blend in it - works flawlessly. the same jfet blend works good on most ckts, I had problems with a woolly mammoth tho' - it may happen with fuzzes,  guess it's something impedence related.
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

I did this once for a Metalhead/Bassist friend. He loved the Muff but never used the Blend control once. Meatheads...
