Have anyone used Hammond's thin wall/ shallow lid series?

It's cheaper so I think I would prefer that than the 1590's, reasons of cost of course, but are they any good for our purposes here? Are they strong enough to handle the work of a stompbox?

I've used them, they're perfectly fine for stompboxes, just not as nicely finished as 1590s.
They used to be made by Eddystone, if you search the forum for Eddystone or the part number you'll find plenty of references to them.

I have seriously considered using them... :icon_wink:

Has anybody but me noticed that Mammoth Electronics has a sister company?

Both have the same address: Norman, Oklahoma USA.
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

They have a whole family.  I think 4site is the creepy uncle.

The Eddystone (Hammond) enclosures in your link are the European leg of the Hammond enclosures, they have squarer corners compared to the 1590b Hammond versions and metric screws instead of imperial. Pretty much identical in every other aspect other than as Slacker says the casting sometimes need a little dressing along the edge as the casting process sometimes leaves a little marking from the break tabs.
