Query about re-amp box

Hello everyone

I'm hoping at some point in the not too distant future to build a re-amp box so I can send recordings of guitars from my PC through a re-amp box and then into some effects pedals and then back to the PC for re recording. I found the following images online for building one of these devices and they seem ridiculously simple with very few components (so that means I'm probably completely wrong about something!) however there are a few parts listed for the below diagram that I have some questions about and I'm wondering whether anyone could either suggest some alternative parts or offer advice please.





Can I use a standard guitar mono audio jack for the input instead of the XLR socket? The diagram only needs two connections so I assume that is OK, but I'd appreciate anyone else's opinions on this.

I can't find the suggested transformer locally. I'm having a problem finding a transformer that is of this type (600ohm) and has a frequency range that doesn't cut a lot of bass (if I'm reading the technical data for these devices correctly; a lot of them start at 300hz and cut off at 15kHz so that's no good for bass guitar at the low end!) Also I'm not sure if I need six pins like the drawing? Or would a four pin device work as well? Two of the pins in the drawing appear to be connected to each other but nothing else? Could someone suggest another transformer please?

This one looks feasible to me, although it has three separate frequency ranges? Would this work on standard 9volts power?

For the inductor is this OK:

Is an SPDT locking switch a standard spdt switch? Meaning it stays in whatever position you set it to and you don't need to keep holding it to make it work?

Looks silly complicated to me.

The PC Out is a stronger signal than a guitar. And usually unbalanced. So all you need to do is knock it down with a 10K Volume pot. Since some pedals are source-sensitive, switch a 100K or maybe 1Meg resistor between Volume pot wiper and "guitar level out".

I'm really sorry about the late reply; I've had a bad week. Thanks for letting me know about the volume issue - I thought the problem was caused by different levels of impedance between a PC output and a guitar, and pedals work based off the high impedance of a guitar, whereas the PC runs at low impedance. I will give your example a test, thanks for answering :)
